Last week’s long run of 22 miles really was the high point of my training so far. I feel excited about the race and I’m looking forward to the atmosphere. I’ve started to wonder what sort of time is possible, although, I’m aware I’ve still got to get to that start line injury free.

More Physio this week and I have done a couple of little runs just to keep things going. I have now got the correct and needed support in my trainers but my ankle is not good, after a couple of miles it is actually painful to run.

Big news this week is that I got myself to a physio and things are not good, I have damaged my left ankle (Acute Tendonitis) which as I have been running with this for a while I have made it worse and also this has led to me damaging my right knee (Patellofemoral Syndrome). The really bad news is that I have been advised not to run this week...

By the end of last week I really started to feel like I was making progress once more. This whole thing has been so unbelievably up and down, one week you can take on the world, the next you can barely manage to get out of bed!

This week’s number one priority was to get an appointment with a physio, which for some reason was proving quite difficult. After spending most of last week trying to get a fairly urgent appointment, on the Friday, I finally got one for the Tuesday evening. I felt a little relieved.

This week has been hard with 50 miles of training.  I’m tired most of the time at this stage – feel like I need a box full of vitamins. My legs have felt heavy all week and it’s been a struggle to motivate myself to go out, but once I get half way round I’m always glad that I did.

Haven had a  lot of time to get runs in this week,  however, I got out for a night run (it wasn’t that dark when I started though) which where I live is dark as there are no street lights on most of the roads that I run along.

Started last week already feeling quite tired on the Monday and that feeling really stayed with me all week.  Everything is a bit sore and stiff now, but I’ve kind of accepted that as ‘normal’ and it doesn’t stop me from achieving my goals.

After last week I was hoping to be feeling a lot stronger and hoping to be fully recovered from the Wymondham 20. The idea was to have an easier week and some rest, so that I would be raring to go again a week later. Well, this week has not gone at all to plan.
